Fixing all bugs is NOT a goal. Completing a project is NOT a goal. Products we develop have significant impact on the lives and change them. It's worthwhile for us. Why we develop in Vietnam?
I (Kakeya, CEO of Scuti) had lived in Hanoi for 3 and a half years when I established this company. Till then, I worked for another software company in Hanoi. I feel that Vietnamese engineers are really excellent. They basically can write logical code very quickly and some got medals in mathematics/physics/chemical Olympic. These are noticeable characteristic of Vietnamese IT engineers.
On the other hand, I also feel that Vietnamese IT industry is young and not so experienced. Especially it's very hard to find engineers who have the view point of users. This is clearly because main businesses of Vietnamese IT industry are "offshore" "outsourcing". In this business, project members deliver only what they are ordered, and they basically can't relate to service operation. Of course, they can't listen to users' voice.
I love Vietnam. I'd like to contribute Vietnamese IT industry more. So I decided to provide the environment to develop web services of our own.
Why we develop for SEA?
Starting 2015, ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) starts. This is the huge wave of the era. Due to AEC, people/things/money must be activated and go around all over SEA. Each countries in SEA will grow up more from now on. Please see this lively sights! Let's ride on this wave together!
How?
We never lose entrepreneurship. In order to keep developing excellent services, all members should be entrepreneur. This may be very hard for you. You must consider of everything by yourself. There is no answer. But instead of it, we promise to give you freedom. Please make our company "a step" of your career. Please "graduate" our company someday. We are ready to support you as an entrepreneur.
We never use the word of "customer". We work with business partner. In order to make economic foundation of our company, sometimes we develop system of the other companies. This is so to speak "outsourcing" business. However, delivering the system is not a goal. The purpose is to leave big impact on lives through services. So we don't call them customer but work with business partners.
We keep learning forever. Nobody knows everything about this world. It is not embarrassing that you say "I don't know" about what you don' know. This is natural thing. IT industry changes very quickly. In order to follow or make this change, we need to keep learning.
